This skyrocketing of video’s popularity on social media doesn’t appear to be slowing down, either. In fact, almost half of Twitter users say they want more video content from celebrities . And over on Facebook, one executive said that they believed Facebook would be 100% video—with no text content—by 2021 .
While that time estimate was clearly a bit off, the prediction still speaks to video’s continuing growth on social media. And that growth in popularity parallels a growth in marketing power.
In fact, one experiment showed Facebook videos to outperform other Facebook posts by 480% as many clicks, and 270% as many end conversions. And in another study, more than 60% of respondents said their interest in a product increased after seeing it in a Facebook story. Now, that’s a lot of numbers.
